From the Dean
The College of Arts & Sciences is the heart of the University. We teach students to think critically – to master creative and analytical processes – and prepare them for a lifetime of learning and participatory citizenship.
Offering majors and minors in the humanities, natural sciences and social sciences, the College is the largest on campus; in fact, one of the largest colleges in the State of Tennessee. Our successes in student recruitment, graduation rates and faculty research are essential for the overall success of the UofM. With this responsibility, I am committed to making available the resources students and faculty need to thrive.
Priorities include enrolling outstanding undergraduate and graduate students, recruiting and retaining top faculty members, providing resources for enhancing student success and experience and promoting engaged scholarship.
I am grateful for the support of our alumni and friends who make an investment in the future – an investment with immediate results and the benefit of a lasting legacy.
With their support, the College and University will continue to offer affordable quality education and a memorable experience for our students.
