Greek Life is one of the most enriching, long-lasting and fun-filled opportunities
your son or daughter can take advantage of during their years at the University of
Memphis. Greek Life at the University of Memphis is much more than a social community;
it offers students a chance to succeed as a student, grow as a leader, and give back
to the community through community service and philanthropic fundraising.
Fraternities and sororities are an integral part of student life at Memphis, and they
contribute much to the University. Greek members are visible throughout the campus,
holding membership and leadership positions in campus organizations that range from
departmental clubs to the highest honor societies. Perhaps the greatest benefits of
joining the Greek community are the diverse and lasting social networks, academic
support, and positive group experiences.
We are proud to host 27 national sororities and fraternities from the National Pan-Hellenic
Council, the North-American Interfraternity Conference, and the National Panhellenic
Conference. Since 1947, Greek Life has been enriching the lives of thousands of University
of Memphis students and providing a home-away-from-home during their college years.
A professional staff assists our Greek chapters and students in all areas of operation,
chapter programming, academic and leadership development, community outreach, risk
management and housing.
