set cell vertical height

There is an increasing demand for health promotion professionals as all sectors of society emphasize the importance of healthy living and disease prevention. The majority of premature deaths and general poor health are caused by lifestyle related problems. Health promotion professionals respond to this growing need by leading people to adopt lifestyle behaviors that include:

  • physical activity,
  • healthy eating,
  • freedom from substance abuse,
  • management of stress,
  • healthy relationships,
  • emotional stability,
  • other positive health behaviors.

Being able to help others help themselves depends in part on developing high levels of insight, creativity, leadership, communication, coordination, and management skills along with a strong knowledge base. In addition to being in demand, health promotion professionals enjoy great variety in career focus and setting and they have the satisfaction of helping people improve their quality of life.
