Annie Cornelius, MS, LBA, BCBA
Autism Treatment, Training and Research Clinic Director and ABA Supervisor

Mrs. Cornelius received a Bachelor's in Psychology in 2006 and a Master of Science in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership with a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in 2016, both at the University of Memphis. She began work in the field of ABA in 2011, providing in-home therapy and later transitioning to therapy provision in schools and, after receiving her Board Certification, in the clinic at the University of Memphis. She is currently the Clinical Director at the Autism Clinic, where she provides services and parent training to local families while also supervising students who are completing ABA coursework. She is also the current president of the Tennessee Association for Behavior Analysis.

Dr. Brian Smith, BCBA-D                                                    
Autism Treatment, Training and Research Clinic ABA Supervisor

Dr. Smith is a State-licensed and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctorate. He earned his Doctor of Education degree at the University of Memphis (2014) with a concentration in Special Education and a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Dr. Smith also earned a Master of Science degree in Behavior Analysis and Therapy from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 2002. Since then, Dr. Smith has been providing ABA consultation in a variety of clinical, educational, and home-based settings to individuals diagnosed with autism, traumatic brain injuries, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. Dr. Smith's involvement with the Autism Clinic includes providing behavioral consultation to West Tennessee school districts and clinic-based ABA services and graduate student supervision. He also serves as the Director of Behavioral Services for the TigerLIFE program at the University of Memphis.

Amy Baltensperger                                            
Graduate Assistant

Ms. Baltensperger is currently in the double graduate program studying Applied Behavior Analysis and Social Work at the University of Memphis. She completed her undergraduate at the University of Memphis in 2016 with a double major in Child Development and Religion in Society. Amy has been working as a graduate student with the Autism Clinic for over a year now. She helps provide ABA services along recently stepping into a new role as the Social Work intern.

Ms. Baine is currently a graduate student in the Department of Instructional & Curriculum leadership studying Applied Behavior Analysis at the University of Memphis.

Ebony Barnes                                                                 
Graduate Assistant

Ms. Barnes currently is a Doctoral student in the Applied Behavior Analysis program at the University of Memphis. Ms. Barnes received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and her Master of Science in General Psychology from the University of Memphis. Working in the field of ABA is the nexus of Ms. Barnes's professional experience and passions- fostering positive youth development and education. Ms. Barnes has worked with specialized communities, such as youth with emotional and behavioral disorders, youth impacted by trauma, and youth-at-risk for detrimental social and educational outcomes. Ms. Barnes's research interests include developing best practices in emerging ABA telehealth models, expansion of ABA principles and methodology in educational settings equities in treatment and access to treatment.

Jessica Johnson                                                            
Graduate Assistant

Ms. Johnson currently is a Graduate Student in the Department of Instructional & Curriculum Leadership studying Applied Behavior Analysis at the University of Memphis. Ms. Johnson received her undergraduate degree in 2019 with a double major in Legal Studies and Criminal Justice with a Minor in ASL & Deaf Studies. Ms. Johnson plans to graduate and become a Board Certified BCBA.
