Inclement Weather Notice

Due to the ongoing severe winter weather conditions, all University of Memphis locations will remain in modified campus operations — including remote classes and work for students, faculty and staff — on Thursday, Feb. 20.

Online Course Delivery

In-person course delivery will remain in an online/remote learning format through Thursday, Feb. 20, with the possibility of a few limited exceptions. Faculty will deliver courses that were scheduled for in-person instruction through synchronous online delivery when feasible. Online courses will proceed as originally scheduled.

Faculty will make reasonable accommodations for any disruption of technology or access to course materials that may be required by students during this period. Reasonable accommodations should include asynchronous online access. Faculty will communicate directly with students regarding any specific instructions or adjustments to coursework.

Any exceptions for in-person delivery of courses must be approved by the responsible College/School Dean or equivalent academic unit administrator with concurrence by the Provost during this period of modified campus operations.

Employee Expectations

All employees are expected to work remotely where applicable. Employees whose functions cannot be performed remotely or encounter difficulties working remotely should consult their supervisor. Employees are encouraged to visit the Modified Campus Operations & Emergency Closing Information webpage for more information on University modified operations and/or closures.

Campus Events

Campus activities and events at all University of Memphis Shelby County locations and the Lambuth Campus in Jackson are canceled or postponed through Thursday, Feb. 20. The women's basketball game against UAB will be played as scheduled on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. in Elma Roane Fieldhouse.

Crucial Services

Crucial services — including campus police, limited physical plant operations and other services for residence hall students — will be available onsite. Dining options will be accessible at the Tiger Den in Jones Hall 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

For the latest information, please check your email, local media sources or the University website. Should there be a need for further cancellation, it will be communicated through those outlets.

Please take appropriate precautions and stay safe.
