Doctorate in Educational Psychology (PhD)

The Online PhD program in Educational Psychology will prepare you for careers in academic and professional communities with expertise and research experience within your area of study. When you choose this program, you will be learning and working with respected faculty members who will provide personalized mentoring, no matter where you plan to take your career. Our faculty are active researchers in diverse fields and will help you tap into your own research interests in your concentration area, striving to offer opportunities to unlock grants and other funding sources to support your research.

Our graduate students come with a variety of interests and career goals. While many are teachers or prospective teachers, others are school administrators, military personnel, health professionals, ministers, law enforcement officers, social workers, consultants, and people from the business community. Their undergraduate degrees are as varied as their backgrounds and experiences. What is common among our students is a shared commitment to research and to addressing contemporary social and educational issues through research. Since the purpose of our doctoral training program is to prepare students to conduct research in a specialized area, individuals with no interest in research should not apply to this program.

The program requirement for online students is the same as that for on-campus students. Students will complete a core set of research and educational psychology courses, with additional elective course requirements that allow the customization to your area of interest. Doctoral students are required to complete a research residency project and complete a dissertation demonstrating their ability to conduct original applied research studies. We accept both part-time and full-time students.
