The following list is current and ongoing UofM projects.

 

Administration Breezeway

  • Scope:Install receptacles for use by students, add reading lighting, and repair existing seating. Project Manager is Nat Youngblood (ext. 5320)
  • Impact Area:Administration: Staff and Students Common Space
  • Project Timelines:Complete by Jan. 12
  • Start and Stop Dates: 10/13/25 – 1/12/26

  • Update: In progress-target completion date changed to Feb. 20 due to material delays.

Administration OIE Security

  • Scope:  Open interior wall to create a single point of entry. Rear exit will remain emergency egress only. Project Manager is Racheal Walker

Carney-Johnston Kitchenette

  • Scope:Enhance the existing kitchenette by installing an island cooktop with fire suppression, circulating ventilation, kitchen sink and associated amenities. Project Manager is Gerry Keen (ext. 2218).
  • Impact Area:Residence Life
  • Project Timelines:Complete by February 26 ,2026
  • Start and Stop Dates:December 16, 2025 – February 26, 2026, pending fire marshall approvals during the holiday season.

  • Update:All work is complete except fire suppression system. Installation and inspections are being scheduled.

Chemistry Building Roof Replacement

  • Scope:  Overall project completion target date is April 30, 2026. Project Manager is Phyllis Holder
  • Impact Area:Academic/Research
  • Project Timelines:Completion target April 30, 2026
  • Start and Stop Dates:12/12/25 – 4/30/2026

Campus Access Control

  • Scope:  Campus Wide Perimeter Door Access Control.

Campus Classroom Door Security

  • Scope:  Overall project completion target date is August 30, 2026. Project Manager is Racheal Walker

  • Building Name: Multiple Buildings

  • Update:Upgrade all classroom doors with ADA approved bolt/thumb/indicator locks. All doors being reviewed and documented.

Clement Hall Fan coil controls

  • Scope:Provide selected fan coil controls improvements throughout the building. Project manager is Nat Youngblood.
  • Impact Area:Academic
  • Project Timelines:Summer ,2026
  • Start and Stop Dates:May 1, 2025 – August 30, 2026, pending fire marshall approvals during the holiday season.

Engineering Solar Smart grid lab

  • Scope:Install solar farm with fencing including electrical distribution and lab setup. Project Manager is Racheal Walker (ext. 2076)

  • Start and Stop Dates:9/1/25 – 5/30/26

  • Update:Installation Inspected by State Electrical Code Enforcement. Code required changes being evaluated.

ERIC Laser Cutter Exhaust

  • Scope: Install a new exhaust system for the large laser cutter in the electronics fabrication lab. Project Manager is Jimma Owens (ext. 2076).

  • Project Timelines:Complete by 3/30/26
  • Start and Stop Dates:12/16/25 – 3/30/26
  • Building Name: Edwards Research and Innovation Center

  • Update:In progress-competion target is March 30, 2026 due to funding delays and equipment delays.

Fieldhouse Gymnasium Center Furnaces

  • Scope: Install 2-400,000BTU Furnaces in each of the two gymnasiums along the East of the building. Project Manager is Swazoo Claybon (ext. 2076).

  • Project Timelines:Complete by 2/26/26

  • Building Name: Elma Neal Roane Fieldhouse

  • Update:In Progress-target completion 2/26/26 due to delayed equipment delivery.

Fieldhouse Domestic Hot Water Plant

  • Scope:Install a heat exchanger-based system to run with the main building heating plant. This will include heat exchanger and pump integration. Project Manager is Swazoo Claybon (ext. 2076).

  • Project Timelines:Complete final inspection by 2/26/26

  • Update: Substantially Complete; system is in operation

Fieldhouse Heating Hot Water Boiler

  • Scope: Add a redundant 850,000BTU Condensing boiler for the building. Project Manager is Swazoo Claybon (ext. 2076).

  • Project Timelines:Complete final inspection by 2/26/26
  • Start and Stop Dates:11/13/25 – 2/26/26

Fieldhouse Controls Improvements

  • Scope: Provide controls improvements on boiler controls and outside air damper controls

Fogelman B&E Renovation (SBC) Moving Logistics

  • Scope: Move all lab computers and furniture necessary to reconfigure for Spring academic classes to begin on 1/19/26. Logistics will include necessary electrical, network improvements, computer moving. All computer labs and Wilson school operations must be ready for the Spring semester final setup by 1/12/26. Overall project completion is targeted for December 2026. Project Manager is Phyllis Holder (ext 3940).

Fogelman Administration Building Moving Logistics

  • Scope: Assist moving all faculty and staff out of the building by 12/17 - 12/19/26. Begin moving all furniture and 2 boxes per person to storage on 1/19/26. Final date will depend on final disposition of furniture. Overall project completion is targeted for December 2026. Project Manager is Phyllis Holder (ext 3940).

Johnson Hall AHU3 – Phase 2

  • Scope: Relocate existing AHU3 unit to new mechanical room until the new unit arrives. Project Manager is Phyllis Holder (ext. 3940).
  • Impact Area:Academics (EarthScience)/Financial Planning
  • Project Timelines:Complete by 3/30/26
  • Start and Stop Dates:12/12/25 – 3//30/26
  • Building Name: Johnson Hall

  • Update:Meeting to finalize move schedule. Targeting Spring break install. March 30, 2026.

Johnson Hall Main Entry Granite Panel Repair

  • Scope:Repair 1 structural column and reinforce the granite panels with stainless steel mounting straps. Project Manager is Phyllis Holder.

Johnson Hall Fan Coil Priorities Ph2

Johnson Hall Basement Corrections/ Mechanical Room

  • Scope: Reconfigure the basement to accept a new mechanical room with improved access. Project Manager is Jimma Owens (ext. 2076).

Jones TigerDen Upgrades

  • Scope: Reconfigure the Tiger Den to enhance operations and aesthetics. Project Manager is Racheal Walker.

Lambuth Hyde Hall DPT Program Improvements Ph2

  • Scope: Reviewing scope items now. Gerry Keen is Project Manager

Life Science Roof Replacement

  • Scope: Demo old Steam Piping including asbestos abatement. Relocate research animal labs. Demo old HVAC system and replace with new VAV system and new controls. Overall project completion target date is April 30, 2026. Project Manager is Phyllis Holder.

Life Sciences Building Automation Controls Improvements

  • Scope: Upgrade selected controls systems including Dampers and VAV systems. Project Manager is Jimma Owens

Mitchell Hall Fan Coil Controls

  • Scope: Install new domestic boiler plant with redundancy. Upgrade the boiler room to meet 2021 IFC. Install backflow device. Obtain all State and Local code inspections. Project Manager is Swazoo Claybon (2076).

Utility – Park Ave. Campus Water Wells (MLGW) Ph2 Main

  • Scope:Install Collecting Water main piping to the North Water Well. Project Manager is Swazoo Claybon (ext. 2076).

  • Project Timelines:Complete by 5/30/26 (Pending Weather)
  • Start and Stop Dates:10/13/25 – 5/30/26
  • Building Name:Graduate Student Family Housing / North Buford Ellington Rd.

  • Update:Reviewing damage to university systems with MLGW. Establishing date to remobilize the project.
