TigerLAN Lab Guidelines

Lab Equipment & Printing:

  • Handle all lab equipment, including computers and printers, with care. Any damage should be reported immediately to a lab Technical Assistant.
  • Not remove any paper from the printers. Seek the assistance from a Technical Assistant.
  • Know that printing is limited to 50 pages at a time. When printing jobs with more than 50 pages, break the print requests up in batches small than 50.
  • Use the color printer for color prints. The ability to print in color requires an allotment of “Color” print pages.

Food & Drinks:

Only consume vending machine type items (cookies, candy, chips, etc.). Meal-style foods or drinks are prohibited.

Noise & Behavior:

  • Keep noise levels to a minimum. Use headphones for audio when needed.
  • Refrain from talking on cell phones in the labs (only in the collaboration rooms).
  • Refrain from the use of vapes or e-cigarettes. These items are not allowed in the labs.

Security & Personal Belongings:

Always keep your belongings with you for security. Missing or found items can be reported to the Technical Assistant.

Collaboration Rooms:

Reserve Collaboration Rooms using the self-service. The application to reserve a collaboration room can be found on the portal (myUofM.Memphis.edu) .

Child Policy:

Not bring children to the UC Tech Hub, Room 265. While they aren’t permitted in this location, children are welcome at McWherter Library.

Online Classes:

Use a “Participating in an online class” sign when taking a class at the lab and you may need to talk more frequently. Signs may be requested from a Technical Assistant.

Cleanup:

Keep the workspace and lab tidy. Clean up in and around your area, remembering to dispose of trash and/or recycling items properly.
