Advising Services
- Academic Advising Center | ACAD 1100 - First Year Experience Course with special attention to developing student skills necessary to meet the intellectual expectations of the University.
- Academic Advising Center | Tiger Learning Communities - a group of 20-25 first semester students enrolled in a group of 2-4 courses which enables collaboration, interaction, and active learning environments.
- Center for Athletic Academic Services | Study Hall - designed to provide student-athletes with an avenue to study in a safe and monitored learning-centered environment.
Educational Support Services
- CASA | ACAD 2200 – 1-credit hour seminar course designed to help students use practical strategies and learn about campus resources needed to return to “Good Academic Standing”.
- CASA | The Write Start – an initiative focused on provided writing assistance to 1st- and 2nd year students in English 1010 and English 1020 courses.
- CASA | CoachUp – an academic coaching initiative that targets incoming undergraduate students identified for additional support to build a strong foundation for academic success through personalized coaching.
- Peer Power Institute | Tiger Boost – embedded tutoring program focused on gateway and high DFW courses.
Equal Access Services
- Disability Resources for Students | First Hires – a program aimed at helping students with disabilities who have never been employed find a job.
- TRiO | Summer Bridge – targets TRiO-eligible UofM bound incoming first-year students for a week-long experience that aids in acclimation to a university environment.
Central Office
- Academic Advising Network | university-wide community of advisors that meet monthly to discuss all things related to student academic success.
- Early Intervention via Navigate |
- Student Experience Project | an initiative that engages faculty in communities of practice to use evidence-based classroom practices to increase student belonging.
- Undergraduate Student Success Council | collective of student success leaders that reviews policies and procedures and serves as a recommendation and advisory body to the Provost.
