Student Academic Success Intiatives

GRIT Initiative

GRIT Academy will operate on a referral-based and data mining system. Identified students will then be required to complete a general application via Tiger Scholarship Manager. Corporate partners will be invited to engage with award recipients via workshops, speaking engagements, career/employment fairs, and networking events.

Mission: Reduce financial burdens that prevent undergraduate students from registration and foster connections with potential employers and/or graduate programs.

Goal: The GRIT Initiative will aim to increase the retention, persistence, and career readiness of Pell-eligible and low-income students at the University of Memphis.
