Black Student Association
The Black Student Association (BSA) promotes academic excellence, social, and political awareness. Throughout the years, we have grown and flourished into an organization that not only represents African American students but also helps them reach success at the University of Memphis. We continuously strive to uphold the principle in which our organization was founded on-- Engaging the torch that leads to excellence in service, education, justice, and unity.

Spark/Homecoming consists of freshmen students who coordinate various Homecoming activities. Past events include: Powderpuff Football and "Spark Up Your Talent" talent show.
EBIN is our very own dance team that expresses through a variety of genres, such as hip hop, afrobeat and jazz. EBIN performs at multiple events on campus and in the Memphis community.
The Fashion Show Team presents the campus community with a new and exciting fashion show program/theme each year.
The Public Relations Team works to effectively brand BSA and promote its activities and events through flyers and social media. Members of the Public Relations (PR) team strive to create and execute various PR and marketing strategies.
Membership works to provide ideas and recruitment strategies to increase and retain BSA membership.
Community Service provides a wide range of service engagement opportunities for UofM students.
Special Events presents the campus community with various social activities. Past events include: "Wild N Out" comedy show and the BSA Halloween party.
Chosen Generation Gospel Choir entertains the campus and Memphis community through song. It has performed at many churches and events, as well as headlined at the Annual Gospel Explosion.
