RE-AIM Public Health IDEAS Hackathon

UofM SPH Launches Hackathon 2025-26
Tuesday, 02 December 2025 - The University of Memphis School of Public Health, in collaboration with global partners - DAV University (India), the University of Minho (Portugal), King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (Saudi Arabia), L-Università ta' Malta (Malta), the East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) and other international institutions, invites high school (grades 9-12) and university students from around the world to register for the 2025–26 RE-AIM Public Health IDEAS Hackathon.
This year’s theme focuses on the intersection of youth, technology, and well-being, examining how digital environments influence identity, social connections and health outcomes. While technology can enhance access to information and foster community and creative expression, many youth face challenges such as increased isolation, anxiety and exposure to harmful online influences. The Hackathon aims to encourage students to come up with innovative solutions that address these pressing issues.
Throughout the Hackathon, students will engage in hands-on learning, collaborate with a global network of peers and develop projects that tackle pressing public health issues. Expert-led workshops on Problem Identification, Idea Generation, Project Design and Pitching Your Project will begin in December 2025. Registration for abstract submissions will open in early Spring 2026, with winners celebrated at the Awards Ceremony on March 27, 2026.
The University of Memphis School of Public Health is dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment where public health, innovation and entrepreneurship converge to create solutions for today’s public health challenges.
