Clinical Nutrition graduate students Cassy Tigner, Payal Patel and Alyssa May are completing their nutrition assistantships at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. They developed and hosted a cooking class for patients and their families on how to make a healthy banana bread that adheres to the MyPlate guidelines set by the USDA. They emphasized that healthy foods can taste good, too!


Health Sci students lead program for middle schoolers

Health Sciences seniors Nicholas Turner and Channin Cross, along with junior Sabine Fayad, teamed up with Professors Kilmurray, Moore and Langston to lead a health education program for 7th-grade students from University Middle School. The session highlighted the importance of physical activity, a balanced diet and homeostasis, providing foundational knowledge to guide the students in developing their end-of-semester STEM projects.

Dr. Puppa crowned World Champion at Triathlon Championships

Dr. Melissa Puppa, associate professor of Exercise, Sport, and Movement Sciences, took the gold medal in her age group at the Standard Aquabike World Championships in Torremolinos, Spain. Competing in a challenging 1500m swim and 38.9k bike, Puppa-Lasher crossed the finish line with an impressive time of 1:41:18.
