Director, Student Leadership & Involvement 

MK Tyler serves as the Director for Student Leadership and Involvement. Prior to stepping into this role, MK has spent the past five years serving in various roles in Student Leadership and Involvement, most recently as the Senior Coordinator for Student Engagement. MK is responsible for providing leadership and support to Fraternity & Sorority Affairs, Student Engagement, Community Engagement and Campus Partnerships, large scale student programming, and leadership programming. MK has a deep passion for meeting students where they are and building them up to be the best leaders they can be and meet their untapped potential. She believes in the importance of student engagement and involvement and the impact it makes on student’s retention and graduation rates. MK values the relationships with her colleagues across campus and is thankful for the collaborative efforts the UofM takes to best serve students. MK holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Baylor University and a Master of Education in Adult Education from the University of Oklahoma. In May, she recieved her doctoral degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Memphis, Go Tigers Go!

Matty Bailey Matty Bailey

Senior Coordinator, Community Engagement & Campus Partnerships

Matty Bailey serves as the Senior Coordinator of Community Engagement & Campus Partnerships. Prior to stepping into this role, Matty has spent the past four years serving as a K-12 English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher in the city of Memphis. Matty is responsible for providing leadership and support to our leadership programming, extended orientation programming, and campus partnerships. Matty has a deep passion for the University of Memphis as an alumnus and a drive to help students become the best leaders they can be. He believes in the impact that the programs housed in the Student Leadership & Involvement office have on student academic performance & retention. Matty is excited to be back on campus, collaborating with campus partners to best serve students during their time here. Matty holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Memphis and a Master of Education from Union University through the Memphis Teacher Residency graduate program.

Rebekah FaheyRebekah Fahey

Coordinator, Leadership 

Born in Birmingham, Alabama and later raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, Rebekah Fahey serves as the Coordinator of Leadership for Student Leadership and Involvement. Prior to her arrival at the University of Memphis, Rebekah spent eight years working in various sectors, including political campaigns and fundraising, retail, and nonprofit organizations. Rebekah is responsible for providing leadership and support for Emerging Leaders scholarship recipients, Tiger Leadership Institute, Leader to Leader lecture series, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, Finding Leadership In the Transfer Experience (FLITE), and other leadership programming. Rebekah believes everyone has the ability to be a leader, regardless of formal leadership roles within organizations. Rebekah holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication, Public Relations from Appalachian State University and a Master of Science in College Student Personnel Services from Arkansas State University.

Logan Albert Logan Albert

Coordinator, Fraternity & Sorority Life 

Logan Albert serves as the Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life.  Prior stepping in to this role, Logan spent the last four years as an active member of student life within the U of M as an undergraduate student who was actively involved Greek Council, Student Government Association and a member of Tiger Elite.  Logan loves to talk about Memphis and the history of our school, he believes the rich diversity gives all students the ability to plug-in and take part at any level of their choosing.  He found his niche in Greek Life and had the pleasure of serving various positions within the Sorority and Fraternity Greek counsels, such as Ambassador for Orientation, Inter-fraternity Council (IFC) Vice President of Communications, and served as President of the All Greek Programing Board (AGPB).  Logan feels that the camaraderie and friendships developed across the various sorority’s and fraternity’s was instrumental in making his college life a success.  This is what he brings to the table and wants all U of M students to understand that it is important to get involved at any level.  Logan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from University of Memphis and is a proud alumnus.  Go TIGERS Go!!!

Student Engagement: Fraternity & Sorority Life

The Student Engagement Graduate Assistant within Student Leadership and Involvement works closely with professional staff for Student Engagement – Fraternity & Sorority Affairs, as well as campus and community partners and initiatives. The GA is expected to create new programming as it relates to Student Engagement functions, evaluate current programming and areas of improvement for those programs, identify new ways to recruit and engage students within the fraternity and sorority community, and serve as a mentor/advisor for the student leaders involved in this function of the office. The GA serves as a representative of the office to students and other stakeholders, attending on/off campus meetings, marketing initiatives, help advise three fraternity/sorority governing councils (Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and Panhellenic Council), and staffing departmental and Student Affairs events as needed.

The Graduate Assistant is expected to create new programming as it relates to Student Engagement functions, evaluate current programming and areas of improvement for those programs, identify new ways to recruit and engage students in participation of those programs, and serve as a mentor/advisor for the student leaders involved in this function of the office. The GA serves as a representative of the office to students and other stakeholders.

Leadership & Community Engagement and Campus Partnerships 

The Leadership Graduate works closely with the professional staff for Leadership Programs, as well as Community Engagement and Campus Partnerships initiatives. The GA is expected to assist with the planning and implementation of a range of related leadership functions during the academic year and work collaboratively with student leaders in a mentorship capacity. The GA serves as a representative of the program to students and other stakeholders, attending on- and off-campus meetings, marketing initiatives, advising current Emerging Leader and Rising Leader scholarship recipients within programming and database management, and staffing departmental and Student Affairs events as needed.
