About Chida Ramanathan

Dr. Ramanathan received his PhD in animal behavior and physiology from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, India. He then completed two postdoctoral trainings where he explored neural substrates of diurnality at Michigan State University and circadian functional genomics at the University of Memphis. He joined the UofM College of Health Sciences faculty in the fall 2019. His research focuses on the interconnectedness between molecular circadian clocks and their output signals. The overall goal is to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying the reciprocal regulation of the circadian clock and cellular metabolism, oxidative stress and aging.
