About Jacque Bradford

Dr. Jacque Bradford directs the new Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at our UofM Lambuth campus. She is a licensed physical therapist with clinical practice experience in multiple clinical settings including acute care/inpatient, outpatient orthopedics, and women’s health at Methodist Germantown Hospital, Methodist University Hospital and Campbell Clinic. Before joining the University of Memphis, Dr. Bradford was the Program Director of the DPT program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis, TN. While there, she also served as as the Director of Clinical Education for the DPT program for several years establishing clinical experiences for DPT students across the region.

Dr. Bradford has served on multiple local and national committees including the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) - Tennessee Clinical Education Consortium, the Academic Council of Academic Physical Therapy (ACAPT) Strategic Initiative Panel on Simulation in Physical Therapist Education, the ACAPT Simulation in Physical Therapy Education Consortium, and as an instructor for the APTA Academy of Physical Therapy Education New Faculty Development Workshop program.

As a large portion of her clinical practice resided in the acute care clinical setting, Dr. Bradford is passionate about the practice of simulation-based education. She is a certified healthcare simulation educator (CHSE) and served as a simulation educator for all healthcare education professional programs, including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physician assistant, physical therapy and occupational therapy students, while at UTHSC. In this role, she assisted in developing, facilitating and evaluating simulation-based education in the Center of Healthcare Improvement and Patient Simulation. Her scholarly work on simulation-based education is published in Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Journal (Phys Ther) and Journal of Physical Therapy Education. Dr. Bradford's research interests predominately explore simulation-based education, faculty development, teaching & learning and education-based topics in physical therapist education.
