About Tara Hunter
Tara Hunter joined the College of Health Sciences as an instructor in the fall of 2018. Her background includes both nursing and health promotion experiences. As a registered nurse in the emergency department, she collaborated with physicians in the assessment, planning and implementation of direct patient care and developed highly proficient clinical skills such as phlebotomy, cardiac monitoring, medication administration and various sterile procedures. As the director of Health Education for Lifesigns, she created web-based programming for adult learners on topics such as blood pressure management and smoking cessation. Additionally, she assisted in implementing worksite health screenings and follow-up blood pressure screenings. As an instructor, Tara draws upon her own personal experiences to provide students with real-world examples of patient/client interactions.
