Goals of SELES Project

The overriding goals of this project are to explore the impact of a SELES classroom on student learning of course objectives, student attitudes towards statistics, and on the development of a growth mindset. Pilot studies will be conducted to evaluate any differences in student learning, attitudes and mindsets between the SELES classrooms and the traditionally taught classrooms. Interest will also be focused on the experiences of groups that are typically underrepresented in STEM disciplines in the SELES classroom as compared to the traditional setting.

Specific Goal: Research and document differences in student learning outcomes and attitudes toward statistics between the traditional classroom and the proposed SELES classroom model.
