Applying for Admission to the Program

Applying to the Graduate Program in City & Regional Planning is easy!

1. Apply to the University of Memphis Graduate School:

First, interested individuals should complete the University's standard online Graduate School application. You can find a step-by-step description of the Graduate School application process, including important deadlines, here. Your completed Graduate School application will be reviewed by the Graduate Program in City & Regional Planning. 

The University's deadline for Fall admission is July 1. The deadline for Spring admission is December 1. (In order to receive full consideration for Graduate Assistantships, application must be received by April 15.)

2. Upload the following supplemental application materials online using the Graduate School application:

  • A personal statement (500 words) describing related background, career objectives and interest in studying planning at the University of Memphis.
  • Current resume
  • GRE (or MAT) Score NOTE: Submission of GRE scores is now optional.
