CE Program in PH Informatics and Technology

California State University Long Beach collaborates with the University of Memphis School of Public Health to offer continuing education program in Public Health Informatics and Technology (PHIT) Program. The PHIT program offered by California State University Long Beach is a not-for-credit pathway program that will provide UofM SPH students with high-demand expertise in health informatics and technology with no additional cost and receive a paid internship.

“We are grateful for this collaborative opportunity with California State University Long Beach in this critically important area of Public Health,” said Dr. David Russomanno, Provost at the University of Memphis.

“This is an excellent cross institutional collaboration between University of Memphis School of Public Health and the California State University Long Beach to advance student skills in areas of population health informatics, analytics and AI in public health,” stated Dr. Ashish Joshi, Dean at University of Memphis School of Public Health.

“The PHIT Certificate opens doors for students from diverse backgrounds to gain practical, in-demand skills in public health informatics, analytics, and AI, helping us build a stronger, more inclusive workforce for the future of public health. We are especially pleased to extend this opportunity to students from the University of Memphis School of Public Health,” highlighted Professor Kamiar Alaei, Chair, Health Science Department and Director, California Consortium of Public Health Informatics and Technology.

Eligibility

University of Memphis School of Public Health students pursuing Undergraduate majors in public health or any MPH/MHA/MS graduate students in public health or recent alumni including those graduating in Spring 2026 can still qualify for completing the remaining PHIT courses in Spring or summer or through free, Not-for-Credit Pathway.

Funding of up to $1,000 is available upon completing training of mini-self-paced not for credit PHIT courses and internships.  All PHIT courses are offered online through flexible pathways.
