Bachelor of Arts in International and Global Studies

The International and Global Studies program provides students with the opportunity to learn about the world from an interdisciplinary perspective. In bringing together several traditional disciplines, including Political Science, Economics, Anthropology, Geography, World Languages and History, students gain a solid foundation of knowledge concerning international society, global economic systems, as well as myriad national and cultural perspectives on subjects ranging from global security and humanitarianism to transnational history and environmental sustainability. Within a structured format, students create an individualized program of study that meets their academic requirements and prepares them for their future career, whether it is in the Foreign Service or related government agencies, in the nonprofit or private sectors either at home or abroad, or in seeking an advanced degree. Students are encouraged to seek opportunities for travel, study abroad and internships. Each student’s program should be planned in consultation with the Director or Associate Director of International and Global Studies.
