The Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from UofM Global will prepare you to enter the profession of social work as a generalist practitioner. The Social Work Degree program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and requires a departmental application for admissions. Students typically complete the departmental application in the SWRK 2011 course. 

BSW students may also choose a concentration in school social work that leads to school social work licensure in Tennessee and some other jurisdictions. Majors may qualify for admission into the Advanced Standing Master of Social Work degree track and finish the MSW in as little as one year. 

Please note: In order to earn the Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, social work majors are required to be available for synchronous class sessions for some courses. Completion of the BSW requires an in-person field placement with 400 contact hours. UofM Global social work majors should contact the undergraduate field coordinator early in junior year to begin discussing field placement options.

Students who want to be a social work major will need to declare “social science focus, pre-social work.”
