Sandbox Updates

  • We will be having Workshop Wednesdays all semester! Are you interested in using our 3D printers, Glowforge Laser Cutter, Cricut, or podcasting equipment? Then sign up for one our workshops today at https://libcal.memphis.edu.
  • Group orientations are available for classes! If you are an instructor and think your students could use our 3D printers or Glowforge Laser Cutter to make a project really stand out, please contact us a thesandbox@memphis.edu, and we can schedule a special session so your students will be authorized to use our equipment.
  • Our upstairs studios are now available for reservation. Interested in recording a podcast? Studio 224 has everything you need to get started. We also have Audio and Video Studios and Presentation Practice Studio available as well. Please go here for our orientation and quiz to get authorized to make reservations. Located on the UofM Main Campus in McWherter Library, the sandbox is a collection of collaborative spaces and technology available to all UofM students and employees. The sandbox spaces include a Video Production Studio, a Podcast Production Studio, an Audio Production Studio, a Presentation Practice Studio, and a Creatorspace that includes 3D printers, a laser cutter, gaming corner, workshop space, and more. To be authorized to use our 3D printers, laser cutter, and studios, you must take an orientation. To learn more, visit our Orientations & Workshops page. The sandbox also includes technology that can be checked out for free with your UofM ID from McWherter's 1st Floor Check Out Desk and brought home with you. Our Check Out Technology includes laptops, art tablets, audio recorders, calculators, cameras, charger cords, headphones, microphones, projectors, video games, and more.
