Professional Real Estate Program
The Department of Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate (FIR) at the University of Memphis
offers a Professional Real Estate Program through the Fogelman College of Business & Economics, the only business college in the Memphis
area fully accredited by the prestigious AACSB. This real estate training program is meticulously designed to provide comprehensive education and training
for students aspiring to careers in the real estate industry.
The Professional Real Estate Program can be completed in a fully online format, making
it one of the top real estate programs online. It caters to students who seek specialized training in real estate without needing an undergraduate
degree in the field. This program is ideal for those aiming for careers in mortgage banking, banking, real estate development, real estate investment,
real estate valuation and assessment, government roles, real estate sales, and property management.
Our real estate training program does not require previous training in real estate,
making it accessible to both students and working professionals. It can be pursued as part of a degree program or as a stand-alone course of study, independent
of any University of Memphis degree program, and can be completed within a year. The curriculum comprises 18 credit hours, including five
classes focused on real estate and one on finance. These courses include Real Estate Principles, Business Finance, Real Estate Law, Real Estate Finance,
Real Estate Appraisal, and Real Estate Investment.
This program is crafted to prepare you thoroughly for the real estate industry, equipping
you with the knowledge required to excel in various roles such as real estate brokers and real estate professionals. Although this program is
not eligible for financial aid and does not accept transfer credits from other institutions, it stands as a robust pathway to gaining essential skills
and knowledge for a successful career in real estate.
