Lambda Pi Eta
Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) is the official honor society of the National Communication Association (NCA), recognizing outstanding academic achievement in Communication Studies at four-year colleges and universities. As a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS), Lambda Pi Eta celebrates excellence in scholarship while encouraging leadership, service, and professional growth within the communication discipline.
Named after Aristotle's three modes of persuasion—logos (logic), pathos (emotion), and ethos (character and ethics)—Lambda Pi Eta reflects the values of thoughtful, ethical, and effective communication. The University of Memphis' Epsilon Beta Chapter was chartered in December 2013 and inducted its first members in April 2014.
