JOANNA GOLDEN

Biography

Dr. Joanna Golden is an Associate Professor at the Crews School of Accountancy (CSOA). She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Macquarie University, a Master of Science in Accounting from Michigan State University, and a Ph.D. in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University. 

Dr. Golden's research focuses on the intersection of management behavior, corporate decision-making, and accounting practices. Her research has been published in academic journals, including the Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance, and Management Accounting Research. 

Prior to her academic career, Dr. Golden gained professional experience as an auditor at KPMG in Detroit, MI. Her teaching interests include auditing, data analytics, and financial accounting."

Teaching

Dr. Golden has taught both the undergraduate and graduate courses in the Crews School of Accountancy at the University of Memphis, including:  

  • ACCT 2010: Principles of Accounting I  
  • ACCT 4030: Systems Assurance/Advisory I 
  • ACCT 4240: Audit/Assurance Services   
  • ACCT 7242: Advanced Auditing
