Ashlesha Lokhande

Ashlesha Lokhande joined the staff in June of 2012 to serve as the Academic Counselor for Football Defense.
Prior to joining the University of Memphis staff, she served 2 years as the Academic Counselor for Football (Defense), Women's Golf, Women's Tennis and Volleyball at University of Southern Mississippi and as an Instructor for UNV 101 class for student-athletes. Served a year as Academic Advising Intern for Football (freshman and sophomore) and assisted with Life Skills at the University of Miami from 2009-2010. Graduate Assistant at Buck Harless Student Athlete Program at Marshall University from 2008-2009 while attending graduate school.
Ashlesha was a student-athlete at Arkansas State University as a member of the Women's Tennis team and also served as a tutor and mentor for student-athletes. During her senior year, she was an intern with Life Skills Program at Arkansas State University.
In addition to serving as an Academic Counselor, Ashlesha is the Cultivating Academic Tigers (CAT) Coordinator at CAAS - a summer bridge program for incoming freshman and transfers; as well as an instructor for ACAD 1100 - Academic Strategies (Learning Communities). She is an active member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) and also a member of Keep A Child Alive for 5 years, an organization that provides life-saving services to children and families affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.
Ashlesha is originally from India. She enjoys hanging out with her dogs, doing hot yoga, cooking, working out, shopping and traveling. She resides in Memphis with her two Shih Tzus -Spicy and Sasha.
