Gather in the Garden for Earth Day

University of Memphis students, faculty and staff, and the wider Memphis community, are invited to celebrate the many sustainability and conservation projects benefitting the Mid-South at Earth Day Wednesday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The festivities will take place in the Oasis Garden, which is adjacent to the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. (The rain location will be the Michael D. Rose Theatre.)

Earth Day will feature a variety of activities for the UofM community and its neighbors, including free food, music by Brennan Villines and Aaron Brock, presentations on sustainability and environmental awareness, vendors, Zumba, yoga, the annual butterfly release and a petting zoo.

The event is hosted by the TiIGUrS urban garden and the University of Memphis Sustainability Office. For more information, contact Laura Prince at lkprince@memphis.edu.
