UofM President M. David Rudd Elected to Executive Council of SACSCOC Board of Trustees
January 29, 2020 - University of Memphis President M. David Rudd has been elected to the Executive Council of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Board of Trustees, Class of 2020.
The current term runs from Jan. 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2020. However, a council member is eligible for election to three one-year terms if he or she continues as an elected Board of Trustee member.
“It is a tremendous honor to have an important role on the Executive Council of the SACSCOC Board of Trustees,” said Rudd. “Any time the University of Memphis can have representation on a highly-respected national council, it plays a part in the continued growth of our wonderful University. I look forward to helping provide leadership and working alongside so many dedicated people.”
The Council and Board meet three times this year, including in the spring in Baton Rouge, La., March 10-12; in the summer in Tampa, Fla., June 8-11; and its annual meeting in Nashville, Dec. 3-8.
“As you know from your experience with us, the Commission relies completely on the support of volunteer leaders such as yourself,” said Dr. Belle S. Wheelan, SACSCOC president, in an announcement to Rudd. “We are indebted to you for your untiring efforts and dedication to the accreditation process.”
