Upskill Mid-South Training Sponsorship Eligibility Requirements 

To be eligible for Upskill Mid-South training sponsorship individuals must be 18 years of age or older, a legal permanent resident, either unemployed or underemployed and currently living in our 42 county tri-state service area.

Age and Identification Verification Required

Acceptable Documentation:

  • Driver's License
  • Birth certificate
  • Form DD-214
  • Certificate of Release 
  • Discharge from Active Military Duty
  • Federal, State, or Local Government-Issued Identification Card
  • Passport  

 

Residency Verification Required

Acceptable Documentation:   

  • Driver's License
  • Federal, State, or Local Government-Issued Identification Card
  • Passport
  • ID card with Address
  • Rental/Lease Agreement with Applicant's Name Listed as a Resident
  • Public Assistance/Social Service Records
  • Voter Registration Card or other Government Document
  • Records from a Financial Institution (i.e. bank statement)
  • Utility Bill in Applicant's Name

 

Unemployment or Underemployment Verification Required

Acceptable Documentation, Either:

 Unemployment:

  • Layoff Notice
  • Letter of Separation
  • Unemployment Award Letter
  • Unemployment Check Receipts
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Award Letter
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Families First Award Letter
  • Unemployment Affadavit (Signed & Notarized)

 

 Underemployment:

  • Current paystubs for 30 days (demonstrating less than 30 hours work week or pay rate less than $20/hour)
  • Employment Verification Letter
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Award Letter
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Families First Award Letter   


Applicant must provide ALL pieces of above required documentation prior to beginning skills training to be approved for Upskill Mid-South training sponsorship.
