Welcome to CROMIUM!

Mission Statement

Computational Research on Materials Institute at University of Memphis (CROMIUM), established in 1998, fosters computational research, research training, and education at both the graduate and undergraduate levels across the university. The main role of CROMIUM is to actively encourage and facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations with researchers on and off campus. The shared resources provided by High Performance Computing (HPC) on campus serve as a vital nexus for advancing collaboration and reaching successful external funding outcomes. CROMIUM will improve communication between research faculty, their students, and Information Technology staff to maximize efficiency of HPC resources on campus, and improve the visibility of computational research at UM globally and within the Memphis community.
