Department Receives $10K Grant from NCWIT

The Department has been awarded a $10K grant from the National Center for Women & Information Technology to help recruit and retain female undergraduate students.

The grant funds will go towards three initiatives over the next year:

• Faculty development workshops to encourage active learning in introductory courses
• Student-led problem sessions in introductory courses to provide extra practice
• After-school computer science clubs in area high schools to help with outreach

Prof. Vinhthuy Phan, Kriangsiri Malasri, and Lyndsey Rush were involved in the grant application.
