Christian Davis

May 1, 2026

Only eight University of Memphis students received the Carson's Circle award in Spring 2026. Christian Davis, a senior mechanical engineering student, represented the Herff College of Engineering as the college's lone recipient of the award.

Davis was honored at the President's Leadership Awards and Honors Assembly on April 15.

Named after Dr. Donald K. Carson, former Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Memphis, the Carson's Circle award recognizes a select number of outstanding graduating seniors who exemplify Dr. Carson's ideals of making the university a better place through their involvement and leadership in campus life. Nominees must be seniors at the University of Memphis who graduate in either May, August, or December. Those nominees should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Award recipients are chosen based on their leadership and integrity, outstanding contributions to campus life, their increased level of leadership responsibility through their undergraduate years, their commitment to academic excellence, their productive and respectful relationships with faculty, staff and fellow students, their pride in the University of Memphis and the legacy they leave behind upon graduation.
