Dozens of companies recruit Herff students at career fair

Dozens of companies and hundreds of students attended the Herff College of Engineering and Polytechnic@UofM career fair on October 16.
Many of those companies, such as TDOT, the City of Memphis, the University of Tennessee Space Institute and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, were returning customers to the career fair, having previously benefited from the Herff College of Engineering and Polytechnic@UofM’s talent.
Hundreds of Herff and Polytechnic@UofM students met with those employers, exploring career and internship opportunities and taking the next step toward their futures.
“It was a great opportunity to meet future engineers, share about H&M, and discuss career and internship opportunities,” said H&M Company Inc., one of the dozens of employers who attended the career fair.
Some students sought their first job, while others, who found success at Herff’s past career fairs, came to establish the next chapter of their professional careers.
“What a difference a year makes,” said Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering sophomore Madison Nolen. “Walking in, I could feel how far I’d come since my first fair as a freshman. Back then, I was figuring out where to stand and what to say. This time, I came prepared with clear goals and the mindset to meet employers with intention. That shift gave me a renewed sense of purpose and pushed me to aim even higher in my ambitions.”
