About

Sofiya provides leadership in planning and implementing resource delivery and interlibrary loan (ILL) services for the University Libraries. She and her team are dedicated to connecting University of Memphis faculty, students, and staff with collections across the United States and worldwide in support of research, teaching, and learning. Sofiya serves as the chair of the Tenn-Share’s Resource Sharing Committee  which promotes resource sharing initiatives among Tenn-Share member libraries and serves as the main point of contact for ILL across Tennessee.

In addition to her work in ILL, Sofiya is the Interim President of the University of Memphis International Faculty and Staff Association (IFSA). In this role, she partners with colleagues across campus to support international faculty and staff and to organize programs that promote intercultural understanding and celebrate global traditions and perspectives..

Sofiya embraces every opportunity to advocate for the vital role of libraries in advancing knowledge, equity, and inclusion. Her work is grounded in ensuring responsive, equitable access to research materials while cultivating strong, collaborative partnerships across disciplines and institutions.
