TollefsenDr. Deborah Perron Tollefsen Named University of Memphis Vice Provost and Dean of the Graduate School

Dr. Deborah Perron Tollefsen has been named University of Memphis vice provost and dean of the Graduate School, effective Sept. 1. Tollefsen joined the Department of Philosophy at the UofM in August 2002 and has previously served as the department's director of graduate studies (2005-08) and chair (2008-13). In 2015, she became associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences and remained in that position until August 2021. During her time as associate dean, she also served as co-lead on the University’s Process Management Group.

Law SchoolUofM School of Law Alumni Chapter to Honor Pillars of Excellence at Aug. 20 Dinner

The Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law Alumni Chapter at the University of Memphis is celebrating the return of honoring excellence in law at the Pillars of Excellence Law Alumni Chapter Awards on Saturday, Aug. 20, at FedExForum. Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by the dinner and program at 7 p.m.

The University of Memphis will recognize 766 graduates from Summer 2022 with a commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, at FedExForum. Dr. Lan Wang, professor and chair for the Department of Computer Science & Willard R. Sparks Eminent Faculty Award recipient for 2022, will be the commencement speaker.
