Welcome

Welcome to the development website for the Fogelman College of Business & Economics. We are honored that you are considering investing in our College. There are many exciting happenings at the college as we continue to achieve lofty goals under the strong leadership of Dean Rajiv Grover.

One of our most unique and student-centric initiatives is The Complete Professional Program offered through the Avron B. Fogelman Professional Development Center. The mission of the program is to holistically develop students who are well-suited for the business world in areas other than standard classroom knowledge. In order to accomplish this we provide training in areas such as public speaking, dining etiquette, business ethics, physical wellness, community service, fiscal responsibility, and much more. Through the Complete Professional Program we are able to provide our students added value, on top of their academic education, to better prepare them for success in both their personal and professional lives.

This past year, through the generous support of Michael and Jennifer Cook, we built a state-of-the-art finance and analytics trading lab that mimics a Wall Street trading firm and is located on the first floor of the Fogelman College. The Cook's gift contained a $500,000 matching pledge that we are actively trying to fulfill. With your support, we can continue to fund this innovative and critically important facility.

The world of finance is constantly changing and the new Cook Analytics & Trading Lab offers innovative tools to help supplement traditional classroom teaching. It affords business students and faculty the resources to stay on the cusp of an ever-growing industry. The Cook Lab is a cutting edge technology and data center that provides the opportunity for students to experience pragmatic, hands-on learning in an academic environment. The purpose is to ultimately prepare students with a more complete academic experience in order to become competent and confident finance professionals.

During my tenure I have been thoroughly impressed with the number of alumni and friends of the College who are willing to help. It is because of YOUR support that we continue to have a positive impact on our students and our community. As an alumnus/na or friend of the college you can provide an impact in numerous ways. You can invest in the college through your private contributions, serve on an advisory board, provide internships for our students, speak to classes on your development or business knowledge, mentor students, or hire our graduates. With your engagement and level of private support we can enrich our college, thereby supporting our community. Alumni and friends are the difference between a good and great university.

I encourage you to contact me with your interest to become more involved in any fashion with the Fogelman College of Business & Economics. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at M.Hartquist@memphis.edu or 901.678.3068.

Best,

Marianne Hartquist
