About
Christi Moss came to the University of Memphis in 2012 where she taught at the Lambuth campus in Jackson, TN. In 2017 she moved to the Memphis campus. Her teaching and research focus on rhetoric, Southern culture, public memory, and gender studies. She’s particularly interested in studies on critical regionalism and commemorative and visual rhetoric in the South. In addition, she teaches courses on rhetoric and Civic Controversy, Visual Rhetoric, Gender and Communication, and Rhetorical Criticism, Southern Rhetoric, Communication and Place, Critical Regionalism, as well as others. In 2017 She won the Southern States Communication Association John I. Sisco Excellence in Teaching Award. And in 2021 she co-edited the book Reconstructing Southern Rhetoric with Brandon Inabinet and is currently working on a project that examines rhetorical constructions of home, memory and place.
