About
Dianna N. Watkins-Dickerson is pursuing the doctoral degree in Communication. She is a USAF veteran, and currently serves as a chaplain in the TN Air National Guard. Dianna is also an ordained itinerant elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. While at Memphis, she hopes to further study female military chaplains and the ways they navigate the complexities of military public space, maintaining denominational and culturally specific voice, beliefs, liturgical practice, and theology.

Research Interests
Dianna's research interests include: Black women's religious rhetoric and spiritual narrative; womanist theological ethics; African American and Diasporic literature; and critical race and gender theory.
