Herff's ITE Student Chapter receives Robert Stammer Student Chapter Award for third consecutive year

The Herff College of Engineering Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Student Chapter received the Robert Stammer Student Chapter Award for the third consecutive year.
The award highlights the dedication, leadership, and hard work demonstrated by a student chapter throughout the year. Each chapter is evaluated based on a comprehensive annual report that documents its activities, professional development initiatives, community involvement, and overall contributions to the transportation profession.
"Receiving this award for the third year in a row is a tremendous accomplishment for our chapter and reflects the continued commitment of our members," said Herff student chapter president Anslee Billingsley.

Adding onto the group honor, Billingsley received the Tennessee Section Institute of Transportation Engineers (TSITE) Billy M. Hart Memorial Scholarship.
"I am extremely grateful for this recognition and for the continued support that TSITE provides to students pursuing careers in transportation engineering," Billingsley said.
The Herff ITE Student Chapter received the Robert Stammer Student Chapter Award for their continued efforts to advance transportation engineering, represented, in part, by a project the chapter is working on in collaboration with ITE International. The project initially involved using existing video interviews with transportation professionals discussing workforce development and creating short, focused videos that could serve as educational and professional development resources for the transportation industry.
But the Herff ITE student chapter wasn't done with their project after its initial design. Billingsley said the group became passionate about the work and saw an opportunity to further improve and expand the project by conducting more than 30 new interviews with transportation professionals at the ITE International meeting in Detroit, Michigan. Those interviews will be organized and edited into short videos corresponding to the 10 workforce development themes identified by ITE International. The student chapter hopes to have these vidoes finished by the end of the year so that they can be available as resources for students, professionals and organizations throughotu the transportation industry.
"It has been an incredible opportunity for our chapter to contribute to a project with an international organization while helping develop resources that can support the future of the transportation profession," Billingsley said. "I am incredibly proud of what our chapter has accomplished and grateful for the opportunities that ITE has provided us to grow professionally, develop as leaders, and contribute to the transportation industry."
