Dr. Larry Martinez is the PSI Professor of Human Resource Management in the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis. He earned his PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Rice University. Dr. Martinez’s program of research examines how employee identities, workplace relationships, and organizational practices shape employee well-being, authenticity, and effectiveness. He also studies strategies for reducing interpersonal mistreatment and improving workplace climates, including through organizational training and community-engaged research. His work has been published in leading outlets including Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, Journal of Vocational Behavior, and Journal of Business and Psychology. His research has received support from the National Science Foundation (CAREER, ADVANCE, and ER2 Awards), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/NIOSH, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
