About Shkendie Papraniku

Dr. Shkendie Papraniku is a Clinical Professor and has been a faculty member at the Loewenberg College of Nursing at the University of Memphis since 2012. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wagner College. An alumna of LCON, she received her Master of Science in Nursing with a Concentration in Nursing Education and later received her Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Master's Certificate. She obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice from East Tennessee State University with her DNP project implementation related to patients with type II diabetes and blood glucose self-monitoring. 

She has worked as a staff nurse in cardiac step-down and as a family nurse practitioner in advanced practice. She currently practices in an Endocrinology clinic with an emphasis in management of diabetes and thyroid disorders. She teaches throughout the Undergraduate Program and also in the Graduate FNP and Education Program. She has previously served LCON as the Chair and Co-chair of the NCLEX Task Force, St. Francis Practice Council, Leadership Council, Faculty Search Committee, Faculty Affairs Committee, Faculty Annual Review Committee, Technology Committee, Tenure and Promotion Committee, and Clinical Faculty Promotion Committee. Currently, she continues to serve LCON as the  Daisy Faculty Award Coordinator, Board member of the Faculty Organization Committee, and member of the Undergraduate Council.  She is also on the University of Memphis' Student Conduct Board. 

She previously received the Daisy Award for Teaching in 2016 and the Methodist LeBonheur Power of One Nursing Award.  She is an active member of American Association of Nurse Practitioners, National League for Nursing, Greater Memphis Area for Advanced Practice Nurses, American Association of Colleges of Nursing, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. She currently serves as the Vice-President of the Tennessee Nurse's Association District I and as a Board member of the Tennessee Simulation Alliance. 

In her spare time, Shkendie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, and traveling.
