Inaugural Public Health Diplomacy Summit: UofM SPH to Host Sept 25–27

The University of Memphis School of Public Health hosted its inaugural Public Health Diplomacy Summit with the theme of “together we can”, in collaboration with the Association for Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) and the Global Network for Academic Public Health (GNAPH). To kick-off the inaugural Public Health Diplomacy Summit, the UofM SPH welcomed guest from around the globe to the FedEx Institute of Technology for its inaugural reception on Wednesday, September 25. Speakers included:
- Dr. Bill Hardgrave, President of the University of Memphis
- Dr. David Russomanno, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost
- Dr. Ralph Alvarado, Commissioner, Tennessee Department of Health
- Dr. Laura Magaña, President and CEO of the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH)
- Dr. Ashish Joshi, Dean and Distinguished Professor of the School of Public Health
Kickoff of the Inaugural Public Health Diplomacy Summit
At the reception, speakers welcomed diplomats, academicians, civil-society representatives and partner organizations from 15 countries to advance public health diplomacy.
