University of Memphis School of Public Health Attends Shelby County Emergency Management Agency Planning Meeting

May 15, 2025 - The University of Memphis School of Public Health (SPH) Community Outreach Representative Steve Shular attended the monthly Shelby County Emergency Management Agency Planning meeting.  

Remarks were given by Shelby County Emergency Management Agency Director Brenda Jones, followed by Supervisory Deputy US Marshall Seth Bruce.   

The monthly meeting is made up of law enforcement, fire departments, emergency responders, public works and other crisis response agencies throughout Shelby County and offers members from other counties and cities the opportunity to share relevant updates about significant events/issues regarding their law enforcement, fire or emergency services agency. 

Shular highlighted the recent spike in SPH enrollment and reiterated the importance of SPH students' participation in experiential learning opportunities at the agencies and organizations involved in the meeting.
