Laurie Shanderson Joins SPH Inaugural Dean’s Healthcare Leadership Community Advisory Group
September 8, 2025 - Laurie L. Shanderson PhD, MPA, FACHE has joined the SPH Dean’s Healthcare Leadership Community Advisory Group, which brings together healthcare leaders whose expertise, experience, and leadership will help provide input about the essential skills, knowledge and competencies that students should possess through their current academic program offerings, particularly the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program, housed within the Division of Health Systems Management and Policy.
Dr. Shanderson is an accomplished higher education leader with nearly 30 years of academic and administrative experience. She founded Accreditation Insights, LLC, an organization that supports institutions with their programmatic and institutional accreditation. She previously served as Chancellor of Methodist College and Founding Dean of the School of Health Sciences at Northcentral University, where she launched new programs, guided strategic planning, and secured programmatic and regional accreditation.
A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), Dr. Shanderson is a published scholar and frequent national presenter on accreditation, leadership, and educational innovation. She has taught at multiple institutions—including Stockton University, South University, and Northcentral University—mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in public health, health administration, policy, and leadership.
She serves on the Board of the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) in addition to hosting the Accreditation Insights podcast, featuring conversations with leaders on the future of accreditation and higher education policy. She is a founding member of the Health Information Informatics Section of the American Public Health Association where she serves as section councilor.
