UofM SPH Participates in Klondike-Smokey City Neighborhood Leaders Partnership Meeting
September 30, 2025 - University of Memphis (UofM) School of Public Health (SPH) Community Outreach representative, Steve Shular, attended the Klondike-Smokey City Neighborhood Leaders Partnership meeting, at Dave Wells Community Center.
The meeting, attended by area residents and representatives from the Memphis Mayor’s Office, Memphis Police Department, Memphis Code Enforcement and other government agencies, focused on ways to combat crime and blight, as both issues are related to improving public health in the north Memphis neighborhood.
Steve gave an update about the partnerships between the SPH and Memphis area high schools.
He also talked about an upcoming health fair for the neighborhood that will be sponsored by the UofM SPH and Concorde Career College from Noon-2:30 at Dave Wells Community Center on October 28, 2025.
