UofM SPH Attends Monthly Uptown Joint Agency Partnership Meeting

October 21, 2025 – University of Memphis School of Public Health (UofM SPH) Community Outreach Representative, Steve Shular, participated in the monthly Uptown Joint Agency Partnership meeting, hosted by the Memphis Mayor’s Office and the Uptown Community Association.

The meeting takes place on the third Tuesday of each month at BRIDGES USA, a youth-focused service organization. 

The monthly Uptown Community Partnership meetings address concerns related to crime and blight voiced by residents and business owners in the neighborhood just north of downtown Memphis.

During the meeting, Mr. Shular shared updates on the success of UofM SPH’s public health clubs in several Shelby County high schools and highlighted the SPH’s ongoing collaboration with the Hospitality Hub, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the homeless population.
