RE-AIM Public Health IDEAS Hackathon

UofM SPH Launches Hackathon 2025-26
Monday, 01 December 2025
This year’s theme focuses on the intersection of youth, technology, and well-being, examining how digital environments influence identity, social connections and health outcomes. While technology can enhance access to information and foster community and creative expression, many youth face challenges such as increased isolation, anxiety and exposure to harmful online influences. The Hackathon aims to encourage students to come up with innovative solutions that address these pressing issues.
“The Global Public Health IDEAS Hackathon inspires youth worldwide to engage in public health discourse, understand the nuances and challenges within the field of public health and become part of the solution.” - Dr. Ashish Joshi, Dean of the University of Memphis School of Public Health.
Throughout the Hackathon, students will engage in hands-on learning, collaborate with a global network of peers and develop projects that tackle pressing public health issues. Expert-led workshops on Problem Identification, Idea Generation, Project Design and Pitching Your Project will begin in December 2025. Registration for abstract submissions will open in early Spring 2026, with winners celebrated at the Awards Ceremony on March 27, 2026.
The University of Memphis School of Public Health is dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment where public health, innovation and entrepreneurship converge to create solutions for today’s public health challenges.
