76th ESCA-HC Conference and signing of Public Health Diplomacy initiatives MOU

SPH Dean, Dr. Ashish Joshi, PhD, MBBS, MPH will attend the 76th ECSA-HC Health Ministers Conference, February 3-5, 2026 in Eswatini. He will be a speaker on the “Fostering Partnerships for Resilient Health Systems” panel. The Conference serves as a platform for addressing health and development challenges across the region.

Priorities include strengthening resilient health systems, improving maternal and child health, addressing both communicable and non-communicable diseases, and advancing universal health coverage. The Conference provides an opportunity to share best practices and strengthen regional solidarity.

Also during this visit, the International Education Memorandum of Understanding to advance Public Health Diplomacy initiatives between The University of Memphis School of Public Health (UoM SPH) and the East, Central, and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) will formally be signed. The purpose of the MOU is to enhance the research and educational experience and the cross-cultural understanding of students from both institutions.
