Wednesday, 18 March 2026

The University of Memphis School of Public Health (UofM SPH) and the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto (ISPUP) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote public health initiatives. This agreement is founded on several pillars, including academics, research and joint events.
This collaborative resource hub provides opportunities to discover real-world innovations in public health, including the use of artificial intelligence and other digital technologies to address today’s most pressing challenges. It educates students on identifying and addressing misinformation and disinformation in public health and enables individuals to connect and collaborate with peers and experts worldwide, fostering cultural understanding and building global networks.

A training initiative for students to become public health ambassadors is available in addition to collaborative noncredit training focused on public health diplomacy, AI, population health informatics, and digital health. The Hub facilitates collaborative research proposals for potential funding prospects, presentations and publications, offering students a chance to enhance their portfolios for advancing their academic and scholarly careers globally.

The Public Health in Action curriculum will be available to students at the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto.
